Reederei Reederei Gerd Ritscher is a small-scale shipping company based in Jork, a small village in the south of Hamburg. From the headquarter we do first quality ship-management for all family owned vessels.
To meet the demands in worldwide competition we set high value on quality, reliability and engagement.
We feel responsible for our crew members and business partners and we want to achieve a solid company performance on a long term basis.
The international standards on quality and safety (ISM, ISPS, MLC) are established and implemented in house. Thus, we ensure keeping the highest level of quality and safety within the company’s operation
Actually the shipping company runs 3 container vessels. The ships are built at German shipyards and are under contract with well-known international charterers.
They all have charter parties with highly notable international charterers. We are strongly convinced that our business size enables us to offer highly competitive operation of our vessels.
This applies for the daily operation of the vessels measured by low OPEX cost as well as for the strength of the asset itself.
Gerd Ritscher
Since 1967 Gerd Ritscher is running the business. For more than 30 years he is responsible and he steadily has developed the company.
In Germany he is one of the first who recognized the advantage of container shipping. In 1967 he brought his first container vessel into service. Since then 17 vessels have been brought into service.
Jan Ritscher
Graduated as a shipsmechanic. Later he successfully completed academic studies Schiffsbetriebstechnik / Bachelor of Science. He worked with several German shipping companies.
In 1998 he took over the family owned company. As a managing partner he is responsible for the Fleet Management, Operation and Insurance.
Birte Gevers
Started her career with Hamburgische Landesbank in Hamburg 1987. She worked with the Hamburgische Landesbank for serveral years with the focus on capital markets.
In 2004 she joined the company and is now responsible for Financing, Controlling and IT. She is also managing partner.
